Franchisee Amrish Patel will open his Checkers in the Wilmington area in November or December of 2016, and he is confident that the brand's affordable menu will appeal to the community. "The way the economy is going, people are looking for low prices," Patel told the Delaware Business Times. Franchisees Hetal and Nelesh Christian will bring Checkers to New Castle, with an opening slated for September or October 2016. Their decision to work with the brand was an easy one, as they both worked at Checkers in Philadelphia more than 15 years ago. "We were familiar with the brand. We looked at other franchise restaurants, but I think Checkers made more sense.
