Delaware Business Times: Checkers & Rally's Adding New Locations to Wilmington and New Castle

Checkers* & Rally's will be ramping up its presence in Delaware, specifically in the Wilmington and New Castle areas.

Checkers & Rally's feels that the market is ideal for development, as quick service restaurants are underrepresented locally and the brand has an existing successful corporate restaurant in Wilmington.

“We know that the market itself is very strong for Checkers because we have a corporate restaurant there,” Checkers & Rally's Director of Franchise Development, John Palumbo told the Delaware Business Times.

Franchisee Amrish Patel will open his Checkers in the Wilmington area in November or December of 2016, and he is confident that the brand's affordable menu will appeal to the community.

"The way the economy is going, people are looking for low prices," Patel told the Delaware Business Times.

Franchisees Hetal and Nelesh Christian will bring Checkers to New Castle, with an opening slated for September or October 2016. Their decision to work with the brand was an easy one, as they both worked at Checkers in Philadelphia more than 15 years ago.

"We were familiar with the brand. We looked at other franchise restaurants, but I think Checkers made more sense. The brand is becoming very popular in Philadelphia,” Hetal Christian told the Delaware Business Times.
