On a call with analysts this week, <a href="http://dennysfranchising.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=dennys-plans-to-franchise-100-company-owned-locations-in-next-18-months-2708334" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Denny&rsquo;s</a> announced plans to franchise more than 100 company-operated units over the next year and a half, <a href="https://www.restaurantbusinessonline.com/financing/dennys-moves-refranchise?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=dennys-plans-to-franchise-100-company-owned-locations-in-next-18-months-2708334" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">according to a Restaurant Business article</a>. 

As part of a strategic transition to becoming almost entirely franchised, the move will take the 1,700-plus unit brand from being 90 percent franchisee-owned to 95-97 percent and consolidate its market area of corporate units down to eight states from 21, according to the article.
