Fast Casual: Former Jack in the Box President Named CEO of Boston Market

Frances Allen will replace George Michel as CEO of the chicken brand

Boston Market has announced the hiring of Frances Allen as the brand’s new CEO.

According to an article on fastcasual.com, Allen will replace current CEO George Michel, who is set to retire after eight years with the chicken chain. Allen has served as the president of Jack in the Box since October 2014.

Jack in the Box was not Allen’s first franchise venture. The longtime executive was EVP and CMO of Denny’s for four years before joining Jack in the Box. Before Denny’s, Allen worked for Dunkin’ Donuts, where according to Fast Casual, she played a pivotal role in the brand’s emergence as a national franchise brand. Allen has also held leadership roles with Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, PepsiCo and Frito-Lay.

“No other restaurant concept is more responsible for the rising popularity of rotisserie cooking and we see significant runway for further building the Boston Market brand," Allen said in a press release. "I am proud to lead a team whose top priority is serving high-quality, delicious, healthy and affordable home-style rotisserie meals to our guests.”
