QSR Magazine: Late-Night Crowds Flock to Quick-Service Restaurants

Customers late at night and early in the morning make up considerable foot traffic for quick-service restaurants.

Quick-service restaurants that are open late have a big opportunity to increase their foot traffic.  According to a recent QSR Magazine article, Foursquare analyzed foot traffic data and found that White Castle brought the largest portion of its diners late at night with 21.5 percent of customers stopping in from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Jack in the Box and Taco Bell came in second and third place respectively with 17 and 14.8 percent of diners coming in during the late-night hours. McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King rounded out the top six spots.

Jack in the Box has recently decided to get creative with their offers including Munchie Meals, which combines popular menu items to create things such as the Sriracha Curly Fry Burger. The company also offers food delivery through a partnership with DoorDash, so customers don’t have to move from the comforts of their own homes to receive their late-night food fix.

“Unlike the daytime hours and the responsibilities that come with them, we believe that late night should be reserved for doing the things our guests enjoy the most,” says Iwona Alter, Jack in the Box vice president of marketing, in a statement about the partnership.
