Nation's Restaurant News: Breakfast Bowls Gain Popularity Among Consumers

Famous Toastery's quinoa breakfast bowl has become a fan favorite.

Breakfast now comes in a bowl - but not just traditional cereal. More and more, restaurants are whipping up innovative bowl-based breakfast offerings to keep up with the demand of a healthier customer base, according to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News.

“People are eating healthier,” Robert Maynard, the co-founder and CEO of Famous Toastery - a rapidly expanding better breakfast franchise, told NRN. “Food is just simply going in that direction and if you don’t follow along, you’ll be left behind.”

Maynard has found success with a breakfast quinoa bowl at the 12 current Famous Toastery locations, and plans to offer it as the brand continues to open in new markets. According to Datassential, breakfast bowls have increased their presence on menus by 66 percent over the last four years.
