DoorDash Adds Upscale Restaurant Options After Caviar Acquisition

From fast-food to high-end restaurants, your options are now endless on DoorDash.

DoorDash recently merged the gap between high- and low-end restaurants after obtaining Caviar, according to Eater.

DoorDash is known for their third-party delivery services, boasting partnerships with McDonald’s, Chipotle and Wendy’s, among others. After buying Caviar, another delivery service known for its more expensive restaurant options, DoorDash is mixing fast-casual with “bougie,” the article said.

“Adding these merchants to our platform will compliment DoorDash’s merchant selection, ensuring we can cater to everyone and every occasion,” DoorDash CEO and co-founder Tony Xu said in a press release, according to Eater.

Caviar, which launched in 2016, offers customers the option to order food for delivery from places such as Duck Duck Goat in Chicago and Destroyer in LA. The fresh acquisition now puts DoorDash and Caviar in position as one of the Big Four, which also includes Postmates, UberEats and GrubHub/Seamless, according to the article.
