Now, Ward is making changes to help ensure no one falls through the cracks.&nbsp;“While I was completing my doctorate, my research showed that standardized testing wasn’t the best option for most kids,” said Ward. “When I was offered a job that was a far journey from home, I was also looking at tutoring options, and I found Sylvan Learning and started working at a nearby center part-time. One of my students at Sylvan was very unreceptive in traditional school, but she came to find success with us. I’ve been able to see the Sylvan Learning method work first-hand, and since becoming a franchise owner, the brand has continually supported me and improved my practice. By partnering with local schools in a meaningful way, we have a much broader reach, so the virtual option is going to help tremendously, especially amid COVID-19.
