Like many franchisees of Elite Window Cleaning, the innovative window cleaning franchise under the Happinest Brands umbrella, Paul Houngmany always had business ownership in the back of his mind. After spending 25 years as a chef, the entrepreneur began exploring other opportunities that would allow him to be his own boss. When he met the team at Elite Window Cleaning, he knew it was the business for him. Now, Houngmany is growing a highly profitable business in the $70 billion cleaning services market.

“I liked that Elite Window Cleaning was smaller and right at the beginning of growing,” said Houngmany. “When I met the team, I knew they were my kind of people. They’re all really down to earth and weren’t filling my head with any crazy dreams. They have always been upfront and truthful about everything.”

Houngmany has found great success with Elite Window Cleaning in Canada’s Calgary and Alberta markets, reaching growth milestones that include earning over $50,000 in his 13th month.

Finding Success with Commercial Buildings

Because window cleaning is an essential service for residential and commercial customers alike, Elite Window Cleaning businesses have the opportunity to build relationships with clients over time and benefit from a repeatable business model. Shortly after mastering the residential side of his operation, Houngmany began to gear more of his business towards the commercial sector.

“Commercial business presents a big opportunity for us,” he said. By developing relationships with several commercial clients in the Calgary and Alberta markets, Houngmany has been able to grow his business and revenue quickly. He attributes his $50,000 milestone in his 13th month of operations to this strategy, but also to the Elite Window Cleaning model.

“Not a lot of people can achieve a $50,000 month milestone this rapidly,” he noted. “But that's the marketing at work. It shows that our commitment to customer service and satisfaction really push up that revenue. And I hope to keep pushing it higher and higher.”

Elite Window Cleaning’s Emphasis on Efficiency and Support

“Elite is big on efficiency,” Houngmany said. “Their commitment to technology and efficiency was something that attracted me to the brand. They invest a lot in roadmapping and software and make sure that we have the best equipment possible so that our lives are made easier.”

Houngmany also added that the support from the corporate team has contributed to his success. Because Chris Stoness, founder and CEO of Elite Window Cleaning, was once a window cleaner, he designed the support system to solve all the problems he faced himself.

“When I set out to create this franchise, I wanted to build out a support network that would have fast tracked my success when I was starting to build my company,” said Stoness. “So we have what we call the BOSS system, which is the back office support system. The idea is to take on a lot of the things that would take a franchise owner out of revenue generating activities.”

The corporate-run facility handles incoming calls and coaching, and offers in-house marketing and national brand awareness. Not only does the 24/7 call center pick up the phone for franchisees, but it handles the sales, conversions, the scheduling and putting jobs on their schedule. And the same goes for post-appointment care when Elite Window Cleaning automatically sends the invoice, review requisitions and drip campaigns out.

“I receive constant support,” said Houngmany. “We’re always in communication in one way or another. I’m really happy with what I’ve gotten so far.”

Looking Ahead

The Calgary/Alberta region has been a successful one for Elite Window Cleaning. Houngmany points to the area’s strong economy, migration and opportunities.  Moving forward, the franchisee hopes to continue growing and reaching new heights. “We want to grow every year until we eventually grow into a new market,” he said.

In Canada, the window cleaning service industry is currently very underserviced from a brand presence perspective, making there is plenty of whitespace for expansion at Elite Window Cleaning.

“We have whitespace in every key demographic in the country,” said Stoness. “And the opportunity in markets is equal. You can build a massive business anywhere because there's windows everywhere.”

Elite Window Cleaning has ambitious growth goals for the coming years, and territories are going fast making now the time to invest.

The total initial investment necessary to start an Elite Window Cleaning franchise ranges from $102,057 - $120,332, including a $40,000 franchise fee. For more information on franchising with Elite Window Cleaning, visit https://elitewindowcleaningfranchise.ca/.
