Since 2012, Elite Window Cleaning, the innovative window cleaning franchise, has been revolutionizing what window cleaning looks like in Canada. Using highly-efficient water fed pole technology, flat rate pricing and a streamlined online booking model allows franchisees to build a highly profitable, scalable business in the $70 billion cleaning services market.

“We've applied technology to both the front and back ends of our business in an industry that hasn't had a technical innovation since the invention of the squeegee in 1936,” said Chris Stoness, Founder and CEO of Elite Window Cleaning.

With so much innovation in its model, there are a handful of qualities that make the Happinest Brands-owned franchise stand out in a once antiquated industry.

A Streamlined Online Booking Model

Elite Window Cleaning’s 24/7 online booking system allows people to shop for window cleaning services in a way that’s easy as an Amazon purchase.

“We've built an online booking engine that mimics the shopping experience that most people see when they shop online,” said Stoness. “We launched this in 2020 and we saw that people were making these purchasing decisions late in the evening, nine o'clock at night. Our society has gone from shopping during the day to shopping at night when we're lying on the couch next to our partner, and we wanted to be available in that space.”

After a few years of optimizing this model, 20% of total sales now come through this channel, all while franchise owners are sleeping.

Flat Rate Pricing

One of the reasons that Elite Window Cleaning is able to operate through an online booking system is because of flat rate pricing it offers consumers. Flat rate pricing not only lets consumers shop 24/7, but it also lowers the barrier of entry, giving franchise owners access to a bigger pool of clientele.

“Everyone said it couldn't be done in this industry — and we believed otherwise,” said Stoness. “We spent a few years figuring out what the right price was per square footage. What it allows us to do is to paint a picture for a consumer on the very first call. We close more than 80% of all incoming sales calls on the very first call because we're able to ask a simple question: ‘What is your square footage?’ Then we're able to provide them with a price.”

Highly-Efficient Water Fed Pole Technology

When Stoness was building his business, he discovered that something called water fed pole technology was being utilized in the UK. Water fed poles are long extendable poles with a brush head. Inside the pole, a pump system dispenses purified water on demand. The Elite Window Cleaning team refined it for the North American water system and built a system that removes minerals from the water and allows technicians to clean from the ground.

“From a unit economics standpoint, it allows us to work almost twice as fast as traditional brands,” noted Stoness. “And because we’ve removed the requirement for someone who can carry big ladders, we're now able to hire based on customer service aptitude. Our staff is 50% female and 50% male — there's no disparity based on anyone's ability to do anything other than have great customer service and be a good person.”

A Carefully Designed Support System

Because Elite Window Cleaning was founded by someone who was a window cleaner, it has a support system designed to solve all the problems Stoness had himself.

“When I set out to create this franchise, I wanted to build out a support network that would have fast tracked my success when I was starting to build my company,” said Stoness. “So we have what we call the BOSS system, which is the back office support system. The idea is to take on a lot of the things that would take a franchise owner out of revenue generating activities.”

The corporate-run facility that handles incoming calls and coaching, and offers in-house marketing and national brand awareness. The 24/7 call center also handles everything from picking up the phone for franchisees, handling the sales, conversions, the scheduling and even putting jobs on a franchisee’s schedule. And when it comes to post-appointment care, Elite Window Cleaning automatically sends the invoice out, as well as review requests and drip campaigns to put customers into a repeatable cycle.

Join a Growing Brand with Plenty of Whitespace

The window cleaning industry in Canada is currently very underserviced from a brand presence perspective. This means Elite Window Cleaning has whitespace from coast to coast.

“We have whitespace in every key demographic in the country,” said Stoness. “And the opportunity in markets is equal. You can build a massive business anywhere because there's windows everywhere.”

With ambitious growth goals through 2025, Elite Window Cleaning is following an impressive growth trajectory. As territories are selling quickly, now is the time to invest.

The total initial investment necessary to start an Elite Window Cleaning franchise ranges from $102,057 - $120,332, including a $40,000 franchise fee. For more information on franchising with Elite Window Cleaning, visit https://elitewindowcleaningfranchise.ca/.
