Jaquelyn Giles is a lifetime entrepreneur. Though she started her career in esthetics, working with makeup, skincare and other beauty products, Giles quickly realized that she wanted to take control of her career. Now, she has grown to own multiple businesses, including the Elite Window Cleaning franchise of Pickering and Peterborough, Ontario. Backed by Happinest, 800+ unit multi-brand home services franchisor, Elite Window Cleaning offers a proven business model with a robust franchisee support network, empowering local owners like Giles to build an empire with their business.

“I’ve been an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember,” said Giles. “I started my journey with esthetics. At the time, I was working for different owners, but I had an opportunity to join a beauty franchise. I knew I was going to make it happen any way possible. I started with one store and decided a couple years later to open another. That’s how being an entrepreneur began.”

After experiencing the benefits of franchising, Giles began looking to expand her ownership. When she learned of Elite Window Cleaning, she knew she had found something special.

Chris Stoness is an amazing person to work with. He’s so inspiring, and he really cares so much about this business,” said Giles. “He’s definitely a branding mastermind — that’s what attracted me to the business. I didn’t have a huge interest in window cleaning at the start, but the branding and business model were so inspiring and appealing. It has been an incredible journey.”

Because she still owns her beauty businesses, Giles has enlisted the help of her partner, Kyle, who serves as a general manager for Elite Window Cleaning. By managing the technicians, providing quotes for potential customers and managing other customer service issues, he supports Giles in being able to be involved in multiple businesses at once.

“I do work full-time in my other business,” said Giles. “Kyle and I touch base daily; we’re always throwing ideas back and forth and asking for advice with different things. He’s full-time, hands-on with Elite Window Cleaning, and I focus on the backend, trying to help him stay organized and be a sounding board for him when he’s having a bad day or dealing with a challenging customer service situation.”

With a strong belief in the brand and its future, Giles said she looks forward to continuing to grow. After seeing the growth the brand has achieved over the past four years, she is confident in its trajectory and wants to continue as one of the pioneers of Elite Window Cleaning as it expands.

“Jacqueline is a prime example of the type of franchisee Elite Window Cleaning is looking to work with — empire builders,” said Stoness. “She recently finalized the purchase of her second territory in Peterborough, and it’s clear she is building a meaningful business by working on rather than in it. Whether one is a seasoned entrepreneur or a first-time business owner, Elite Window Cleaning provides a proven, predictable system that lends itself to such growth.”

In building a business, Giles said it is crucial to always have a goal in sight. Especially in the service business space, having targeted goals to reach each day encourages consistent growth and a high level of customer service.

While she is always setting new goals and leveraging her competitive nature to reach them, Giles said it’s just as important to take a step back and be proud of what you have accomplished.

“One day, I would love to be able to, if I have children, have these businesses that they might be interested in,” she said. “I can teach them the ways of acquiring a business and how to work in a business, and I could have something that could potentially be for them through my businesses.”

The total initial investment necessary to start an Elite Window Cleaning franchise ranges from $102,057 - $120,332, including a $40,000 franchise fee. For more information on franchising with Elite Window Cleaning, visit https://elitewindowcleaningfranchise.ca/.
