Mobile fitness brand moves into Barrington with state’s first franchise location.

GYMGUYZ, the leading mobile fitness and personal training brand, recently announced its expansion into Barrington, Ill. through a newly signed deal with local entrepreneurs Tom Hirshberg and Jerry Messner. In order to meet the growing demand for quality personal training in the area, Hirshberg and Messner have joined the GYMGUYZ family as the first ever franchisees in Illinois and are now providing convenient workout services to clients.
“We’ve seen great growth these past two years, and moving into Illinois is a true accomplishment for everyone on the GYMGUYZ team,” said Josh York, CEO and Founder of GYMGUYZ. “With Tom and Jerry onboard, and based on our success in previously opened markets, we’ll be able to exceed the expectations of our clientele and help them meet their unique fitness goals.”
A native of Illinois, Hirshberg began his career in the automobile industry as a car dealer while simultaneously dedicating himself to environmental issues, including the Clean Our Oceans Refuge Coalition (COORC.org), health and wellness. After 30 years in the car business, many of which were spent as general manager, Hirshberg decided that entrepreneurship was a path he wanted to pursue. Hirshberg and his childhood friend Messner went into business together and started Third Stone Homes, a home building company. While on a work trip to New York to meet with the company’s IT professionals, Hirshberg spotted a GYMGUYZ van. Curious about the company, Hirshberg and Messner met with York to discuss the system. Impressed by the youthful brand’s success, he signed on as a franchisee to develop in his home state.
“Through my due diligence, I saw the impact and success of the business model, and there is nothing quite like it in the North Shore area of Chicago,” said Hirshberg. “Josh and the entire GYMGUYZ team are passionate about the brand, and I’m excited to become a part of the company’s rapid growth as we start serving our neighbors and expanding within Illinois.”
GYMGUYZ brings state-of-the-art fitness technology, equipment and expertise to the doors of its rapidly growing customer base. GYMGUYZ trainers use their expertise to structure workouts that will help each client meet his or her individual needs, tracking progress over the course of a 15-week program.
York noted the GYMGUYZ business model has already proven itself to be not only convenient, but also lucrative. Like-minded individuals with a passion for fitness and business would serve as prime operators to capitalize on their own business pursuits, as well as expand the GYMGUYZ brand on a national scale.
“Our opening in Illinois is the perfect way to kick off quarter two and ramp up our expansion initiatives,” said York. “With our current growth momentum, we aim to continue providing current and new clients the highest level of service on the market.”
The in-demand company is set for expansion across the United States and is currently looking to develop territories in New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Missouri, Colorado and Georgia.
