The Presidential campaign is well underway, and there&rsquo;s no question that major differences exist between the two major candidates. While it is difficult for them to find common ground on issues regarding foreign policy, the economy, women&rsquo;s rights and healthcare, there is one area where they are likely to share similar feelings &ndash; food &ndash; and more specifically, eggs. <a href="http://ownatoastery.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=famous-toastery-offers-americans-another-way-to-cast-their-vote-6700" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Famous Toastery</a> did some research to uncover the candidates&rsquo; favorite foods on the campaign trail, created menu items inspired by these favorite foods, and then gave customers the opportunity to vote for the better option. We sat down with Robert Maynard, CEO and Founder of <a href="http://famoustoastery.1851franchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=famous-toastery-offers-americans-another-way-to-cast-their-vote-6700" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Famous Toastery,</a> to discuss how he came up with this idea, details on the items and what the response has been.

When Maynard and his team came up with the idea, it was all about having fun amid a very intense political climate.

&ldquo;This election is such a contentious one. We wanted to create something that would be exciting for customers and allow them to engage with one another without yelling involved, which sometimes happens when discussing politics,&rdquo; Maynard said. He adds that the response has been great &ndash; and they&rsquo;ve even put together a voting booth to enhance the experience.

&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve created our own booth so customers can vote after eating. Every now and then you get the disgruntled customer, but for the most part, customers have given great responses.&rdquo;

Originally four menu items were available to vote on, but as the race for president tightened, so did the options. Prior to narrowing down the field to two presidential candidates, The Bern Scramble and The Cruzlet were both available. Now, the Trumplet and The Hillary are left, leaving voters to decide between a meatloaf omelet and a quinoa bowl, each offering a personality that mirrors the candidates&rsquo;.

According to Maynard, the Trumplet insists that it&rsquo;s &ldquo;the best omelet ever made in the entire world, its huge, it&rsquo;s amazing, it&rsquo;s better than anything you have ever eaten, seen or ever thought of. If you don&rsquo;t like you must leave the country. Go, go now.&rdquo; The Hillary is accompanied with a plea to &ldquo;Please delete that email I sent about Famous Toastery and Russia, you know, the classified one.&rdquo; These are available at all Famous Toastery locations.

Enjoying the brand&rsquo;s playful take on the election, the main question customers have asked is if this will promotion will happen again in the future. According to Maynard, &ldquo;The presidential election is a big part of society and everyone wants to put their two cents in. Doing this gets people to interact, and at the end of the day, that is what is important, so we&rsquo;ll probably do something like this again in the future.&rdquo;

With only a few weeks left until the election, we&rsquo;re excited to see how it shakes out &ndash; and almost equally excited to see what Famous Toastery has up its sleeve in 2020.&nbsp;&nbsp;
