Fast Casual: Caliburger customers can order, pay with a smile

The technology offers a more personalized user experience.

Patrons of Caliburger will be able to use facial recognition software to place their orders. According to a recent article in Fast Casual, the company has partnered with NEC Corporation of America to make these kiosks a reality.

"NEC's world-renowned face recognition technology is a key component of our strategy to reduce the friction associated with loyalty program registration and use. It's also a key stepping stone toward replacing credit card swipes with face-based payments, which is our goal for 2018," said CEO John Miller of the Cali Group.

The technology will be available for participants in the brand's loyalty program. The kiosks will be able to register the facial features of the individual and use this recognition to place and pay for the orders. The company believes that this will help improve the customer experience through personalization.
