Fast Casual: FDA fighting NYC menu labeling law

The law will be postponed until after a lawsuit hearing.

According to a recent article in Fast Casual, the FDA has issued a hold on a law requiring New York City restaurants to disclose nutritional information on menus. The reason for the delay is to allow a lawsuit challenging this law to play out.

Despite the delay, the FDA has released a statement saying that it "believes that equipping consumers with clear and consistent information is important for helping them make informed decisions about the food they eat."

The court case is scheduled to begin this Wednesday, a few days after the law was initially planned to go into effect.
