Research and Market’s latest report indicates that Asian, Middle Eastern and hot flavors are gaining popularity.
Things are heating up in the restaurant industry—literally. A new food industry flavor trends report that’s cited in a recent Fast Casual article says that there are three primary trends taking over the industry: Asian, Middle Eastern and hot.
The flavor trends report, which was released by Research and Markets and is called “Food and Beverage Flavor and Ingredient Trends: Culinary Trend Tracking Series,” notes that fiery, pepper-packed items are rising in popularity. The full list of hot ingredients includes a variety of chili peppers, including aji and guajillo, in addition to salsa verde and harissa hot chili pepper paste.
Research and Markets goes beyond simply listing the latest trends in flavors and ingredients—the report highlights the impact of the trends in the industry overall, and also explains how to leverage these trends in the long-run on menus going forward.
