Millennials are growing up and Generation Z is becoming more and more of a target market for fast casual restaurants. According to Fast Casual, millennials are the largest age group driving profits for fast casual restaurants, and more than a fifth of the average Gen Z’s budget goes toward eating out. This means that millennials and Gen Z make up a bulk of the industry’s business.

According to Deloitte, “‘Winning' restaurant brands will be those that best understand their customers, capitalize on digital technology options and analytics, and seize upon the opportunity to engage customers in a highly personalized way.”

One of the major ways restaurants are about to leverage technology to increase engagement amongst these younger generations is via digital signage, which makes updating menu boards seamless, provides another platform for social media and makes it easy to constantly change up marketing materials.
