Fast Casual: NRA Providing Free Webinars on Sexual-Harassment Prevention

The webinars arrive as concerns regarding sexual harassment in the foodservice industry grow

The National Restaurant Association has announced that it will be adding webinars on sexual-harassment prevention to its training programs.

According to an article on fastcasual.com, the webinars will be included on the NRA’s ServSafe Workplace program. The webinars will be available for free throughout the summer.

The issue of sexual harassment has been a growing concern in the foodservice industry in recent years. Last week, two women filed a federal complaint against McDonald’s regarding the franchise’s handling of sexual-harassment claims.

NRA’s executive VP of training and certification said in the release that the new webinars will focus on mitigation and management of issues associated with employee work and safety.

“Our industry — like so many others — is confronting this challenge as our collective awareness has increased about this problem in society," CEO of NRA  Dawn Sweeney, said in the release. "ServSafe Workplace is designed to help prevent and respond to this behavior in the workplace.”
