According to&nbsp;<a href="https://bit.ly/2reS9D3?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=fast-casual-smoothie-king-opening-150-units-this-year-2706432" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="color:rgb(17, 85, 204)" target="_blank">a recent article in Fast Casual</a>, the brand has unveiled plans to increase its presence by 150 locations this year. If this goal is met, it will set a company record for the number of new openings during one year.

&quot;We are attracting multi-unit and experienced operators that are committed to supporting healthy and active lifestyles. With five consecutive years of positive same-store sales, we see a real opportunity to combine vision and financial success,&quot; said CEO Wan Kim.

Smoothie King credits the most recent growth, in part, to its Cleaner Blending initiative. This involves the use of fewer and fewer artificial colors and flavors as time goes on. The brand hopes to eliminate these entirely by the end of the year.&nbsp;
