Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs is heading into 2026 after a steady year of growth. In 2025, the brand signed six franchise agreements, including one gym conversion. One location is already open and the remaining four locations are expected to open in early 2026, allowing the brand to grow while keeping a close eye on how each location performs.
“That puts us in a position to grow our network by the mid-20% range in 2026,” said Rick King, president of Fitness Premier. “That’s really healthy growth for us from a footprint standpoint.”
Fitness Premier has spent much of its time growing in smaller and tertiary markets that larger gym brands tend to pass over, while also moving into a few metro areas where a different type of gym can stand out. As a result, the brand isn’t forced to compete on low prices or size alone.
Same-Store Performance That Signals Durability
Beyond new openings, Fitness Premier’s existing locations are showing consistent performance gains.
“This is the second year in a row that we’ve hit over 10% same-store revenue growth across the network,” said King. “Some of these locations have been open for 20 years, so to still see that kind of performance is something we’re really excited about.”
That level of consistency mirrors what many gym owners are seeing day to day. More people are committing to fitness, spending more on their health, and looking for gyms that provide structure and support instead of a hands-off experience.
Conversions as a Scalable Growth Opportunity
One of the bigger developments in 2025 was Fitness Premier’s move into gym conversions, including a location in Bozeman, Montana, that is now in the process of joining the brand. The owners are keeping full ownership while shifting to Fitness Premier’s systems and pricing model.
“They’re great operators and great trainers, but they were struggling to see how to scale,” King said. “What they saw value in was our model, our branding, our marketing and the ability to take their business to the next level.”
The conversion is expected to serve as a proof point for other independent gym owners who want to expand without starting from scratch. The model allows owners to keep control of their business while gaining the structure needed to expand to additional locations.
Ownership for Entrepreneurs Who Want Control and Meaning
Fitness Premier’s franchise model continues to draw owners who want more than a paycheck. Many are looking at a second location, putting profits back into the business and buying real estate as they build long-term wealth through ownership.
“There are people who want to control their own destiny, control their income, and do something they feel proud of,” King said. “This model gives them the ability to do that without putting a ceiling on what they can earn.”
Fitness Premier supports franchisees from the early planning stages through daily operations. Owners also work closely with one another, sharing insights and experience as part of the network.
A Purpose-Driven Model in a Crowded Industry
While much of the fitness industry has shifted toward low-cost, low-engagement models, Fitness Premier has remained intentional about the member experience. The brand emphasizes coaching, amenities, and programs designed to help members make measurable progress in their health journeys.
“We’re very intentional about the member experience and the value we’re delivering, even though it’s a harder model to run,” said King.
Why 2026 Is a Strategic Entry Point
Looking ahead, Fitness Premier’s priority is execution. Internally, the focus is on ensuring new locations open on solid footing and meet or exceed franchisee expectations. Externally, the brand plans to award approximately five additional franchises in 2026, maintaining a pace that allows for hands-on support.
“We’re not trying to sell a hundred franchises in a year,” said King. “We want to grow at a manageable pace so our franchisees get the attention and service they deserve.”
For entrepreneurs evaluating their next move, Fitness Premier’s 2026 vision offers a clear message: ownership is not just about opening a gym, but about building a business that supports financial independence, community impact and long-term growth.
