30-year restaurant veteran Jim Norberg to oversee the franchise’s operations excellence team.

Jim Norberg spent three decades of his career with McDonald’s, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer overseeing operations of 14,000 U.S. restaurants. During his time at McDonald’s, Norberg worked to unify branding, simplify menus and streamline and enhance customer experience. He now works as an independent strategic advisor in the restaurant, hospitality and entertainment industry, until recently accepting a role as Papa John’s new Chief Restaurant Operations Officer.
“Jim is a seasoned expert whose depth and understanding of restaurant operations and the guest experience will help propel our brand forward and position us for continued success,” said Steve Ritchie, president and CEO of Papa John’s International. Norberg himself is looking forward to the role. He said in a statement reported by QSR Magazine, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I look forward to helping move the brand forward and contribute to the success of our differentiated ‘BETTER INGREDIENTS. BETTER PIZZA.’ brand value proposition.”
