Fox Business: Consumer confidence rebounds--a prelude to another market rally?

Confidence climbed to 128.7 in April, an uptick from March's 127.

Consumer confidence continues to rise after reaching it's highest level since late 2000 in February. The Conference Board's consumer confidence index reached 128.7 in April, slightly higher than March's 127. Fox Business noted that consumers are optimistic about the future of jobs, the economy and their finances. Consumer's thoughts on current conditions reportedly rose from 158.1 to 159.6 and future expectations increased from 106.2 to 108.1. 

When consumer confidence is high, U.S. economic growth sees a positive uptick due to the increase in spending. Because consumer spending drives two-thirds of the economy, it's important for confidence to stay high so businesses continue to thrive.
