The Next McDonald's (Big Idea)

Did You Capture and Tell Your Brand Story this Week?

Yes, this week and next week and the week after that…

A video every week? Well, why not? It’s not expensive, production can be quick, and once it’s out there you build a renewable, reusable asset.

You don't need to spend $10,000 on a video production company, you don’t need to over-plan or over-edit, and you don’t need to spend a lot on cameras or equipment.

You have the content all ready. It’s in your daily team conversations, it’s in your core values, it’s in your franchisee wins, and it’s in the challenges you face.

This week on FranX we launched our Buying a Franchise 101 course. The technology cost was closer to $0 than $500 and relied on an inexpensive online streaming service and some inexpensive webcams.

People care more about genuine content than overproduced and edited video.

What wins did your brand achieve this week? What haven’t you told that story?

News You Can (Actually) Use

Killer Brands

A fellow FranX’er, Office Pride Commercial Cleaning is an organization driven by a mission to “Honor God by Positively Impacting People and Workplaces.”

Wow! A mission statement that is driven by principals and not platitudes. Best of all, Office Pride has a great track record, what appears to be off-the-charts franchisee satisfaction and great AUV for a low start-up cost franchise.

Franchisees Kicking Ass: The Franchisee Is King

Why I Bought My Franchise: Ken Jones, Firehouse Subs

After just one sub, Ken Jones was hooked on Firehouse Subs.

Tired of driving back and forth to Greensboro, North Carolina for his favorite food, Jones decided it was time to bring Firehouse Subs to his hometown of Danville, Virginia. And, as a career firefighter and captain himself, Jones found his values aligned with the sandwich brand founded by fellow firefighters. Jones opened his Firehouse Subs in March of 2018 with his son KJ. Together, the two give back to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and have hosted various events to make a positive impact in their community.

Yo Broker, Sell My Franchise

Brokers want more deals, too. So, we Googled “franchise coach”, and this came up at number 1.

Brokers, are you owning your brand? Are you establishing your personal story, your personal why you/why now?

The Bottom Thoughts

Best this, best that. The bests of bests are wide and large in franchising. That is the start of the discovery for a franchise buyer.

What should I buy? Oh, I know, the best X brand.

They Google. They find. And then, they research.

So, are you doing the same? Here’s a quick weekend opportunity to find a few gaps:

  1. Google your brand + franchise. Take note of what you see and what is said. Are you consistent with your message? Is your franchise site at the top?
  2. Now, go into your franchise site (just like a buyer, we hope). What do you see? Does it say, “Awesome franchise” or does it say a clear why you/why now?
  3. No? Well, now do your homework and see if you can figure out your why you/why now? Go back to Google and search again.
  4. Now, look at your competition. Jealous of anything? Add that to your to-do list.

It’s not hard to win the war of the Web. It is simply doing it -- and re-scrambling your message.

Yes, we know, we sound like a broken record. But we are here to help you, and we are grateful you are a part of our community. Side note, have you subscribed to our YouTube? Please do -- and tell your franchise friends to do the same.
