While many restaurant franchises experienced loss and closures, delivery pizza was a bright spot in the food industry as it continued to grow.&nbsp;“There was this national group-think that it’s okay to order some food,” said Toppers Pizza Founder &amp; CEO <a href="https://www.scottgittrich.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=franchise-times-toppers-pizza-featured-for-pandemic-driven-sales-surge-2715308" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Scott Gittrich</a>. “The government sent out money to every family and there was a thought, ‘We might make it through this.’ From that one week to the next, we went from being down 12% to 15% to being up 25%, and we were up a lot of weeks. We’re up 35% year over year.”Gittrich also mentions that Toppers Pizza franchisees have a lot to be excited for as far as “what’s next” for the pizza segment.
