Vince Rosetti and Saladworks have a love at first taste relationship. He and his family dined at a Saladworks location for the first time on a whim, due to long lines at a restaurant next door. The Philadelphia native always knew he wanted to go into business for himself, and enjoyed the restaurant industry.

After his first visit to Saladworks where he saw a note on the menu about franchise opportunities, he made a call and got started with the brand. Rosetti is now celebrating the success of his first location in Bensalem as they mark their 10 year anniversary. He also runs a location in Philadelphia that has been open for seven years.

Tell us a little bit about your background.

I grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and earned a business management degree from Temple University. I first got involved with the restaurant business in high school as a relief assistant manager for Arby’s. After college, I worked for Gino’s and then worked in food manufacturing for companies like Heinz and Fleer Corporation.

Why did you choose to become a franchisee with Saladworks?

From high school on, I always thought I wanted to be in business for myself. I got out of college, got married to my lovely wife Valerie, had kids and never really had the resources or freedom to start my own business. I always had my eye on starting my own business. One day my family was going to Boston Market and it was packed and we were waiting in line, but Saladworks was next door so we decided to try it. The restaurant was unique, the food was great and the prices were good. On the menu, there was a note about franchise interest inquiries, so I called the number and got started with the franchise process.

What were your perceptions of franchising before starting the process?

I never thought that franchise documents were so legalized, so getting started was certainly a learning experience. The concept made sense for me and I liked that I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel.
