Southern Classic Chicken, the fast-casual restaurant franchise with nearly 20 locations, is entering the new year with ambitious growth plans as it has officially unveiled its new and refreshed restaurant design.

Southern Classic Chicken’s latest restaurant model recently made headlines in Franchising Magazine USA, which spotlighted the modernized prototype located in Bossier City, Louisiana. Launched in April 2023, this revamped design signifies a notable evolution for the brand as it focuses on refining Southern Classic Chicken’s image. It aims to simplify the logo and overall appearance to enhance brand recognition, especially as the brand seeks to expand beyond its traditional Southern market.

The prototype also introduces new operational improvements. It boasts a dual-lane drive-thru that can accommodate up to 30 cars and a compact building layout, ensuring better functionality and increased efficiency within the brand’s signature drive-thru and walk-up-only model.

According to Franchising Magazine USA, since its launch in April 2023, the prototype has seen “packed drive-thru lanes from morning till night.” As a result of its success, Southern Classic Chicken is now reportedly aiming to adopt the redesign in all new stores, across both company-owned and franchised units. The brand is also planning to gradually integrate some elements of the prototype into existing restaurants.

The shift in design and branding comes as the Louisiana-based fried chicken franchise seeks to extend its reach across states like Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi and further solidify its position as a formidable contender in the chicken category.
