Fresh Coat Painters Continues Mid-Year Momentum with 14 New Units Added and Record-Breaking Sales

The fast-growing painting franchise has implemented several strategic initiatives to boost unit level profitability and position franchise owners for scalability.

Fresh Coat Painters, the residential and commercial painting franchise with over 170 units, is making significant strides in 2023, building on the momentum of a successful 2022. The company has implemented strategic initiatives to enhance profitability and customer experience, while also adding 14 new units to its growing portfolio.

"We started the year with some challenges, but we quickly found our footing and have been making great strides ever since," said Wayne Scherger, COO of Fresh Coat Painters. "We've revamped our sales process, focusing on in-home selling versus email proposals and have seen a significant increase in close rates as a result. Last year, Fresh Coat saw a 34% system-wide increase in commercial sales and 170% increase in national accounts achieved. Fresh Coat Painters is also launching a peer group, Step Up and Rev Up, designed for owners or members to focus on their business. The last initiative is the Leadership Accelerator, which offers two different models designed for owners looking to scale their businesses.

"We promote a system called double-double, which aims to double revenue in three years or less by increasing profitability by 33%," Scherger said. "We help our franchise owners with every aspect of their business, from growth and scaling to profitability. This year, we have really focused on optimizing our support initiatives and we are already seeing great results."

Looking ahead, the Fresh Coat Painters team is continuing to invest in future growth, with plans to hit 200 units by the end of the year.

"We are very bullish on growth and have made heavy investments in technology, leadership, and support to ensure our franchisees can scale their business," said Fresh Coat President Tara Riley. "We continue to focus on franchise development and expect to pass the 200 mark by the end of the year.
