Why Joe Martinta Opened His Fresh Coat Painters Franchise in Houston

Joe Martinta, the owner of Fresh Coat Painters of Northwest Houston, has built a successful career in the painting industry since moving to the U.S. from Brazil in 2005. With 16 years of experience, Martinta worked his way up from an apprentice to a master painter. His journey led him to open his own Fresh Coat Painters franchise serving Cypress, Hockley and Northwest Houston in Texas. Through Fresh Coat Painters, Martinta offers a range of residential and commercial painting services, including wallpaper removal and installation, faux finishes, drywall repair and more.

“The reason I chose Fresh Coat and the franchising path is because I was involved with a painting franchise in the past,” Martinta said in a recent video. “I worked for a different painting franchise for a while, and I came to a point where the owner of the office I worked for said, ‘Hey, I’m going to send you to owner’s training so I can take a back seat and let you handle the day-to-day operations.’ I realized if I’m going to do that for someone else, why not do it for myself? So I looked through the different companies that were available.”

Martinta ultimately went with Fresh Coat Painters because of the company's impressive growth and brand appeal. “I looked into all the different companies that were available, and Fresh Coat was growing faster than everybody else,” he said. “I liked the logo and the name. A couple of them out there — you see the name, and it doesn't connect to painting. Fresh Coat does, obviously, immediately. That was my choice.”
