In 2012, Chris Miller moved to Raleigh, North Carolina for the sole purpose of opening up his own business with Renew Crew. Miller had previously been working as a project manager in the mining industry in Arizona and New Mexico.

Before 2012, Miller was focused on his career and life, without any plans to start or open his own business. After mixing up presentation days on a community calendar, Miller accidentally attended a presentation on franchising from FranNet. During the presentation, Miller had an epiphany—he decided it was time for a new career path and started looking into different franchising options with help from a consultant. That’s when he found Renew Crew.

Renew Crew was started in 1993 in Springfield, Missouri by Stan Krempges, a partner in a local fence installation business, who noticed a gap in the marketplace for a fence, deck and patio cleaning and protection service. Krempges noticed many of his customers asking for companies that provided these kinds of services, and with no recommendations to give, he decided to go off and start one of his own. After years of research, Krempges was able to develop an environmentally safe cleaning and protective solution specific for outdoor wood and, thus, Renew Crew was born.

When Miller first decided to become a business owner, he was shown an array of different franchise concepts from his consultant. After sorting through the different franchise opportunities, Miller decided on Renew Crew because of the brand’s unique business model and in-demand power washing services. “Renew didn't have many franchisees, which was intriguing because I could essentially pick the market. I basically told Paul to recommend 3-4 areas where there could be good franchisor opportunities as I was willing to move and we settled in Raleigh”, Miller says.

Still, opening a business doesn’t come without its own set of headaches. Miller’s consultant told him that out of all the key markets Renew Crew was looking to expand in, unfortunately, none were in his home state of Arizona. Instead of giving up, Miller took this news as an opportunity to embark on a new adventure to open his business across the country in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Along with the marketing and operations support provided by multi-brand franchisor and Renew Crew's parent company Premium Service Brands, Miller noted he's able to draw from his prior professional experience to find a pathway to success as the owner of a Renew Crew franchise. “My experience building billion dollar jobs prior to this demanded the same thought process—at the end of the day we’re solving everyday problems.”

Now, Miller is excited to provide a valuable service to the Raleigh community with Renew Crew. “We concentrate on customer service, while so many other businesses do it so poorly,”Miller said “Our two main goals are 1) Do what you say you’re going to do, whether it is for customers or employees and 2) Always perform quality work.”

The average Renew Crew investment ranges from $100,000 to $150,000, with a franchise fee of $60,000. For more information, visit: https://www.renewcrewfranchise.com
