BLUE BELL, Pa. — Griswold, a leading non-medical home care franchise with more than 170 locations nationwide, has awarded $29,500 in scholarships through the Jean Griswold Foundation’s National Caregiver Scholarship Program this summer, supporting 13 Caregivers in their pursuit of education and career advancement in the caregiving field.
Founded in 2010 and named after the company’s founder, Dr. Jean Griswold, the Jean Griswold Foundation continues her legacy of supporting care professionals. Yearly, the Griswold National Caregiver Scholarship Program aims to assist family Caregivers, professional Caregivers, and those aspiring to enter the care industry. The scholarships are designed to enhance training, certification, and degree advancement within the field, empowering Caregivers to continually develop their skills and provide superior quality care.
Since adjusting their focus to support front line workers in 2022, the Jean Griswold Foundation has awarded $180,000 across 77 scholarships, with a growing number of awards going to Caregivers with deep ties to their local communities. This round marks a new milestone in the Foundation’s mission — one focused not only on increasing the number of scholarships, but on enhancing regional access.
“One thing we’re really excited about is how donor-directed giving is starting to take shape,” said Sarah C. Latini, project manager and head of the scholarship program. “We’re now able to allocate donations toward scholarships in specific regions where caregiving support is urgently needed. It allows us to really live out the Jean Griswold legacy by targeting areas of greatest need and uplifting Caregivers who might otherwise be overlooked.”
Latini emphasized that while the Foundation’s goal is to award $100,000 in scholarships in 2025, the work goes far beyond the numbers. “We’re identifying an underserved population — people who are passionate about caregiving but may not have had this kind of support before. For many of our scholars, this is the very first scholarship they’ve ever received. That’s powerful.”
Scholarship recipients range from family Caregivers looking to pursue certifications to career changers and high school graduates beginning their education journey. Recipients can use the scholarship to further their education to become a registered nurse (RN), licensed, practical nurse (LPN), enroll in a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program, earn an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) degree or attend other applicable nursing or Caregiver courses.
“Every single person we award is passionate about providing care — whether that’s to an aging parent, a child with special needs or as a professional Caregiver,” Latini said. “Their stories are inspiring. They’ve made sacrifices not just because they care deeply about others, but because they know this career can be life-changing — even generationally life-changing.”

The Foundation also announced that the next round of scholarships — the Winter 2026 round — is now open and will close on August 31, 2025. Winners of that round will be announced on National Caregivers Day, February 20, 2026, and the Foundation is prepared to award up to $70,000 during that cycle. Applications for the following summer round will open again on February 1, 2026.
Latini says Caregivers interested in applying shouldn’t hesitate. “We’ve intentionally made the application and nomination process accessible,” she said. “We don’t want paperwork to be the barrier between a Caregiver and their dreams. This is about recognizing potential and helping people step into their future.”
