Home care franchise Griswold has opened in Greater Beaumont, Texas, bringing a much-needed resource to families seeking non-medical support for aging loved ones, Beaumont Enterprise recently reported.

Franchise owner Keeya Gillard decided to enter the home care field after years of caring for her son, who has autism and epilepsy. That experience, she said, shaped her understanding of what families need most from Caregivers.

Before launching the Greater Beaumont office, Gillard worked as a supervisor at the Spindletop Center, serving adults with disabilities. The role gave her a firsthand view of how difficult it can be for families to find reliable Caregivers — especially those who are the right personality match.

Gillard said matching the right Caregiver to the right client is one of her top priorities. She visits families in person, learns their routines and preferences, and works to place someone who will connect well. Passion and empathy, she says, are qualities she looks for when hiring.

Griswold’s Greater Beaumont location offers non-medical services such as grooming support, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship and help with daily routines. Gillard says her team coordinates appointments with medical providers and home health agencies when needed, creating a more complete support system for clients. She also encourages families to explore long-term care insurance or programs like the GUIDE dementia support program, which may cover or offset the cost of care.

Gillard hopes the new office will ease the burden on families in Southeast Texas and become a trusted partner in the Caregiving process. Her goal is to grow the client base, expand her administrative team and, above all, bring dependable, compassionate care to the region.

"I hope we have the best Caregivers we can find," she said. “I want us to make a difference by being reliable and doing extra things like coming out, introducing the Caregiver to the family and staying to answer questions.”
