High Country Press: Famous Toastery Reopens Blowing Rock Location with Charity Event
The breakfast, lunch and brunch brand reopens in Blowing Rock, North Carolina with a pay-what-you-can fundraiser for the Children’s Council of Watauga County.
Famous Toastery, a better breakfast, lunch and brunch brand, was featured in the High Country Press after reopening with a special pay-what-you-can fundraiser for the Children’s Council of Watauga County. The council is a local nonprofit that helps serve the needs of young children in the High Country.
“We wanted to do something that aligned with our values,” said Famous Toastery CEO Robert Maynard. “The Children’s Council is an awesome nonprofit that was recommended by the [Blowing Rock] chamber of commerce and our CFO knows the charity pretty well.”
The location in Blowing Rock was originally opened by franchisees, but closed in September 2019. The Famous Toastery corporate team reopened it in August in a much anticipated reopening for the community.
“We were always committed to reopening. We didn’t want to see it close but we are getting a second chance for the people and the outpouring of support has been huge online through emails and on Facebook,” said Maynard. “People are really excited to come back. We are definitely making the right decision. You walk in and you feel good; it bleeds Blowing Rock. We are really fortunate about that.”
