TripAdvisor named Chicago-based hot dog chain Portillo&rsquo;s as its #1 fast casual restaurant in the nation, according to <a href="https://abc7chicago.com/food/chicago-chain-tops-list-of-best-fast-casual-restaurants/4831761/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=hot-dog-chicago-based-portillos-leads-tripadvisors-list-of-best-fast-casual-restaurants-2708619" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">ABC7Chicago</a>. 

Portillo&rsquo;s, a beloved Windy City establishment since 1963, beat out casual dining front-runners like Shake Shack, Five Guys and Blaze Pizza, according to the article. Other Chicago-based restaurants including the Purple Pig and world-renowned Alinea lead in the everyday and fine dining categories, respectively, according to the article. 

TripAdvisor&rsquo;s rankings are determined by analyzing both the quantity and quality of&nbsp;customer reviews over a 12-month period, ABC7Chicago reports. The everyday dining and fast casual categories were new to the report this year, according to the article.

In addition to hot dogs, Portillo&rsquo;s sells Italian beef, chocolate cake, shakes, ribs and sides.
