IFA’s Annual Leadership Summit Features Discussions with 200-Plus Congresspeople
Prominent members of the industry and government attended the meeting.
At the International Franchise Association’s Summit and Franchise Action Network Meeting in Washington, D.C., hundreds of industry professionals congregated to speak about the state of affairs and share tips, news and concerns.
Over 300 franchising professionals and more than 200 members of Congress were present, which led to a very productive and informative forum. The purpose of the annual event is to discuss important policies and regulations that are constantly changing.
“Lawmakers and regulators gave great insight to attendees, and panels of IFA members shared their experience and expertise with their peers. Everyone in attendance left D.C. feeling inspired and motivated to continue to fight for franchising and the opportunities it creates,” Matthew Haller, president of the IFA, said.
Those present included a number of senators, state representatives and several experts from different labor divisions of the government.
At the event, the IFA recognized 23 members and bestowed them with Open for Opportunity Awards for their dedication to positively influencing their local communities and teaching others about the franchise model. Those awarded include CEOs, founders and presidents of brands like Code Wiz, DSN Corp. and Au Bon Pain; franchisees with companies such as Papa John’s and California Closets; and several other important figures within franchise operations.
The event was sponsored by a number of big-name companies, including Franchise Media Update, Sport Clips*, Franchise PaymentsNetwork, Jani-King and more.
