Impossible Foods Partners with Major Meat Processor To Produce Fake Meat

The plant-based meat franchise turns to OSI, a popular meat producer, to help fabricate faux meat.

A soaring increase in orders has caused Impossible Foods, which makes meatless alternatives, to ask for a helping hand from OSI, according to CNN

OSI has over 65 facilities in 17 countries and has partnered with Impossibleto allow the faux meat-processing company to use their Chicago meat-processing site to create Impossible’s meatless products. According to the article, Impossible will produce their product line inside a replica of the company’s Oakland facility maintained within OSI’s Chicago plant.

“OSI employees who make the product have to key into the room,” the article states. “The separation protects the plant-based protein from meat and other contamination.”

Impossible Foods’ President Dennis Woodside describes “the deal as a long-term, multi-year partnership,” the story said.
