In KFC’s New Contest, (Un)Lucky Winners Will Receive a Colonel Sanders Bearskin Rug

In the latest of a slew of outlandish promotions, KFC is giving away three faux bearskin rugs in the image of brand founder Colonel Sanders, available exclusively through an online creativity contest on Reddit for Valentine’s Day.

Contestants can win the rug through one of three creative endeavors: a Photoshop battle, storytelling challenge or drawing duel. Winners will receive the rug, fried chicken onesie pajamas, a KFC gift card for two for a year, and a yearly subscription to an online streaming service.

According to a Restaurant Business article, a statement from KFC chief marketing officer Andrea Zahumensky read, “I’m no dating expert, but the only thing I can think of that’s more romantic than eating fried chicken on Valentine’s Day, is eating fried chicken on a faux bearskin rug created in the likeness of the greatest chicken salesman of all time—Colonel Sanders.”

The contest is open - and runs until midnight on February 10. “Keep rug away from open flame,” the rules conclude.
