Athletes often have a tough time transitioning once their life as professionals in the National Football League is over. According to a recent Inc. Magazine article, Bradie James is one who has found success after retirement with franchising with MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes*. James started working with the brand while he was playing and continued his success after his retirement. Now he serves at the Director of Brand Engagement at MOOYAH and owns several of his own locations.

"What attracted me to franchising is that it's very similar to athletics," said James. "You basically have a playbook with people who have worked out the kinks. Just like when a play is called on the field, you can still make it your own. I didn't have to reinvent the wheel or stumble on an opportunity. Plus, I wanted to give my family an opportunity to work if they wanted to."

While James tries to encourage other NFL players to get involved in different career paths while they are still playing and to think about their futures, he knows NFL owners often look down on athletes who are focusing on anything but the game. This has motivated James to continue educating athletes on their options post-retirement and believes franchising should be at the top of their list.
