Great ideas don’t happen overnight. And they certainly don’t eventuate into a profitable business without some inspiration and guidance. There will always be someone who knows something you don’t. With so many different conferences and conventions occurring throughout the year, it may be hard to pinpoint which one will be the most valuable to your growth. The key is simple: research each event’s agenda and speakers, and assess its relevance to your personal business plans. If you see yourself as an innovative business leader among the ranks of – or are working toward getting to the same level as – past attendees such as Airbnb, Foursquare, Leo Burnett, Microsoft and YouTube, then Fast Company’s Innovation Uncensored NY may be the right event for you. The event takes place tomorrow, April 10, in New York City, and offers attendees an opportunity to network with fellow innovators, as well as tap into the minds of industry pioneers. Similar to its previous collection of speakers, this year’s line-up shows that the event organizers are able to consistently access high caliber presenters.  These include Will Dean, Founder and CEO of Tough Mudder; Chad Dickerson, CEO of Etsy, and Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. Discussions cover various industries with the common theme of innovation. Here are some highlights of the event’s agenda: 10:05AM: The Secrets to Building a Cult Brand Tough Mudder CEO Will Dean, Blue Bottle Coffee CEO James Freeman, Fast Company’s Jeff Chu and Nasty Gal CEO Sophia Amoruso talk about the how to create a unique brand identity. 11:00AM: What Happens When Competitors Cooperate? NYC restaurateurs Seamus Mullen and Christian Pappanicholas tell the audience about how they took a fresh look at the competitive industry and found success in collaboration. 3:25PM: Evernote’s China Cheat Sheet Evernote CEO Phil Libin discusses how he was able to crack the China market, and amass more than 10 million Chinese users within two years. 4:00PM: Inside PepsiCo’s Playbook PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi and Fast Company’s Robert Safian will talk about the importance of keeping local markets in mind as well as crisis management techniques. Although the NYC event has recently sold out, you can email [email protected] to be placed on a waiting list. Or perhaps this overview will prompt you to pop it into your calendar so you don’t miss out on Innovation Uncensored San Francisco in November.
