Instagram Testing Video Tagging

The social media giant rolled out photo tagging back in 2013. The addition of video tagging will further streamline the user experience.

Instagram is testing out a new video feature with select users. According to a recent article in TechCrunch, the social media giant is experimenting with a way for people to tag other users in videos that they post. These videos will have an icon in the bottom left indicating that someone is tagged in the post. When clicked, users will be redirected to a new page with a list of people who have been tagged.

“We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and bring you closer to the people and things you love,” said a spokesperson for the social media platform.

Photo tagging has been an option on Instagram since 2013. The addition of video tagging will further streamline the user experience and will allow both individuals and brands to notify accounts that they have been included in the content. At the moment, the tagging feature is only visible on mobile devices.
