Is Raising Cane's a Franchise?

The chicken finger concept is indeed a franchise, but is not currently offering franchise opportunities.

Raising Cane's, the Baton Rouge-based, chicken fingers QSR chain with over 530 locations, is a franchise, but is not currently available for franchising.

As of right now, Raising Cane’s has several franchise-owned restaurants open, operated by 78 franchise partners who have been with the system since the original program was started ten years ago. According to the Raising Cane’s website, there are new corporate-owned restaurants in development for the next couple of years, but the brand is not open to selling more franchise licenses at this time.

“Currently, we are focused on the rapid development of company-affiliated restaurants in a very specific geography, while continuing to support our existing franchise business partners,” the website states. “Unfortunately, we are not entertaining franchise or development opportunities anywhere at this time.”

Instead of putting any effort into acquiring new franchises, the brand has decided its priority is to work on growing corporate stores on the East Coast and supporting existing franchisees. The website states that if a prospect has a recommendation for a new corporate location, they can contact the team here

If the Raising Cane's brand does open back up to franchising, its past financials might provide an indication of the investment level. Most recently, the brand had a franchise fee of up to $45,000, with a total initial investment range of $768,100 to $1,937,500, according to franchisegrade.com
