KFC Announces New CEO

Yum Brands veteran, Tony Lowings, will fill the leadership role at KFC beginning January 1st.

KFC has announced that CEO Robert Eaton will be retiring. According to a recent article in QSR Magazine the brand has selected Tony Lowings to fill this leadership role beginning January 1st. Lowings currently serves as president and COO. His previous experience includes over two decades of work for the parent company, Yum Brands.

“As a proven and highly respected strategic brand builder, high-impact operations leader and people grower, Tony is the perfect person to continue elevating KFC into a distinctive, relevant and easy global brand that people trust and champion,” said Greg Creed, CEO of YumBrands.

Eaton has served as CEO of KFC since 2014 and previously held leadership roles at Yum Brands. He held roles ranging from COO to chief operating and development officer.

“Roger’s imprint on our culture, people and the KFC brand is vast and his legacy is lasting. While we will miss Roger, he’s earned this next phase of life and we wish him well as he spends time with his wife Debbie and children Pierce and Georgie,” said Creed.
