Dairy Queen* is making a comeback in Knoxville, with multiple area openings planned in coming months, but fans of the brand may notice some differences when these latest DQ's open.

The upcoming Farragut and several other Knoxville area openings will represent the brands fast casual concept, DQ Grill & Chill, offering a full menu.

Franchisee for the area, Matt Frauenshuh, says he has fifteen planned locations for the largely undeveloped Knoxville area. The young entrepreneur already owns 180 locations in 10 states.

Frauenshuh's development plans are aggressive, four more locations in the region already have real estate and several more are in the planning stages.

Frauenshuh signed on with the brand at a young age, taking over several restaurants from his family, and has grown from there. He owns nearly the entire Tennessee territory and it was Knoxville's geography and strong economics that drew him to the area.
