Layne’s Chicken Fingers’ 15th U.S. location just opened in Corsicana, Texas, and the Corsica Daily Sun landed an interview with the Texas “born and breaded” famous™ chicken franchise’s CEO.
“That is our first new prototype that we developed, so that same building we built there is going to be built all around the United States, so that is the first one we have ever built. It is unique. It is ‘Prototype Number One,’” Layne’s CEO Garrett Reed told the Corsicana Daily Sun.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers has plans to open 12 more by the end of 2024, he told the paper, and this location is a sneak peek at the brand’s future.
Layne’s, famous for its tasty chicken fingers, has a 48-hour marination process that takes place before the chicken is hand battered to order. Once a location runs out of stock, it closes until the next day — this is exactly what happened on the day of the store’s grand opening on March 9. Dedicated fans know the first-come-first-serve policy, which inspired many customers to camp out for hours before the doors opened. Selling out on the first day bodes well for the brand. In fact, the sales at the soft opening that took place just two days prior exceeded the sales of all previous soft openings for the beloved chicken chain.
The cult-like following continues to grow alongside the brand. The Layne’s team has even expressed their goal to expand internationally before too long.
