Layne’s Chicken Fingers held its grand opening Saturday at its Janesville, Wisconsin, location on Humes Road awarding the first 10 customers a year of free Layne’s chicken.
The location is owned by Randy Bergeson and his sons Lucas and Josh, who have multiple burger concepts in Madison. The Bergeson family introduced Layne’s to the community for the first time with the only Layne’s drive-thru available outside of Texas.
“I’ve always enjoyed Janesville,” Lucas told Gazette Xtra. “It has that ‘everyone knows everyone’ vibe like my hometown.”
Although they welcome the competition they face in the fierce chicken segment, they are confident that Layne’s chicken can’t be beat.
“Our biggest goal was to find a restaurant that served whatever they do better than anyone else,” Lucas said. “The food sells itself, it’s so good.”
