The largest number of new Dallas-Fort Worth transplants came from the state in 2020 — with <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2021/04/05/welcome-to-texas-thousands-of-folks-from-california-illinois-and-new-york-moved-to-d-fw-in-2020/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=lightbridge-academy-looks-to-grow-in-booming-texas-market-expand-across-the-greater-dallas-and-houston-areas-2717707" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">more than 16,000 people moved to North Texas</a> from California, according to CBRE’s study of post office change of address information. This number was up more than 19% over 2019 totals. Many New Yorkers — more than 4,500 — also relocated to Texas.One thing this influx of new residents means for the state is more working parents and the need for more early education child care and daycare centers.
