Leading early education and child care franchise Lightbridge Academy has announced plans to add six new centers in the Tampa area — and that’s just the beginning. To jump-start the brand’s Florida expansion, Lightbridge Academy representatives will be meeting with prospective franchisees at The Franchise Show at the Tampa Convention Center on Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19.

Lightbridge Academy began franchising in 2011, leveraging nearly 15 years of experience to build a child care center like no other. Now, 10 years later with 60 open locations and 60 additional franchises either sold or in development across the U.S., Lightbridge Academy is working to establish a presence across Florida with opportunities in Tampa, Lakeland and Orlando. Its six new Tampa locations alone will generate more than 200 jobs in the market.

“We’re looking forward to finding strong franchisees to open the Tampa market,” said Lightbridge Academy founder and chairman Guy Falzarano. “At The Franchise Show, we anticipate meeting many local entrepreneurs and business owners in the Tampa area, and we’re excited to show them the difference that a Lightbridge Academy child care franchise can make in this community. Tampa is such a diverse city with a growing but still tight-knit community that cares about its children and families. Lightbridge Academy provides unparalleled support for parents as well as a high quality early educational program for their children. Our Franchise Show exhibit gives us a chance to share our proven business model and find the ideal franchisees that are a fit for our high care culture.”

With a 1.18% population increase over the last year, Tampa has been consistently growing. It’s currently the largest metropolitan area in Florida, with expectations to increase from 3 million to 3.3 million people in the next five years. And with population growth comes a heightened demand for educational resources.

After the addition of a new high school in Tampa at the end of 2020 and absorbing nearly 2,000 students from the East Bay area, it’s clear that the market needs to continue to find the right resources to provide more early education options to the boom of families moving in.

“The Tampa area is perfect for Lightbridge Academy’s Florida expansion,” said Lightbridge Academy CEO Gigi Schweikert. “Families in the Tampa area need our services as The Solution for Working Parents®. Lightbridge Academy can deliver reliable child care support and a solid educational curriculum to all students, including the thousands of new children coming into the market. We understand the challenges working parents face, and we know they need quality child care, so we’ve developed industry-leading programs like ParentView® Internet Monitoring, a parent eCommunication app, extended hours and state-of-the-art security systems. Last year, we also introduced The Lightbridge Promise®, which is the Gold Standard in health and safety for child care, including an enhanced air purification and filtration system along with heightened cleaning and sanitation processes.”

Lightbridge Academy is hoping to use Tampa’s Franchise Show to identify qualified franchise candidates who are a good fit with the company’s values to build on the city’s first six franchises.

“The operations at Lightbridge Academy are so well-designed that owners don’t need to have a career in education or child care to run it,” Falzarano said. “We’re looking for solid business people with a passion for children and education, who understand the need to support parents, and are committed to following the Lightbridge Academy model.”

Lightbridge Academy representatives along with founder and chairman Guy Falzarano will be on hand at the Tampa Convention Center to meet prospective franchisees, provide information on the brand’s franchise opportunity and answer questions about its large-scale development plans in the Tampa area.

Interested entrepreneurs should be sure to check out Lightbridge Academy’s exhibit at The Franchise Show to learn more about available opportunities with the brand.
