Long Island Business News: Hamptons-Based Fitness CEO Ditches Brick & Mortar Gyms for 20-Foot Pickup Truck, AWATfit Now Franchising

AWATfit Founder & CEO Rich Decker is launching a franchise opportunity with his mobile fitness brand for a post-pandemic world.

In a recent interview with Long Island Business News, Rich Decker, founder & CEO of AWATfit — All Weather All Terrain Fitness — discusses how he has leveraged more than 30 years of experience in the industry to further develop the mobile fitness concept.  Built out of the back of a 20-foot pickup truck, AWATfit is brought  directly to clients at their homes, the beach or elsewhere. With an influx of requests due to fears surrounding indoor gyms during COVID-19, Decker stresses the strong opportunity to disrupt the stagnant fitness marketplace and grow fast.

“This is the wave of the future in the franchised fitness category,” Decker told Long Island Business News.

By eliminating the brick-and-mortar element of gym ownership, AWATfit dramatically slashes overhead and organically expands the brand’s marketing footprint, as the truck is not only a gym but serves as a key marketing tool with high visibility as well. AWATfit is planning to add 1,000 franchisees domestically and abroad, starting in Decker’s hometown of Long Island.
