Carrols Restaurant Group, Burger King’s largest franchisee, has acquired 55 Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants as part of a $238 million deal, according to a Restaurant Business report.

Carrols Restaurant Group is purchasing the Popeyes restaurants, plus 166 Burger King restaurants, from Cambridge Franchise Holdings, according to the article.

“It further strengthens our position in the Burger King system and provides us the opportunity to continue executing our Burger King acquisition and expansion strategy,” Carrols Restaurant Group CEO Dan Accordino said of the deal, according to the article.
