Mashable: Instagram is taking on FaceTime with its own video chat feature

The social sharing site also has partnered with third-party apps to enhance user experience.

Facebook announced new changes coming to Instagram during the company's F8 Conference. Mashable broke down the update in a recent article outlining how users can look forward to being able to share content from third-party apps via Stories, a new video chat feature, updated camera filters and a redesigned Explore tab.

The first two partners for the brand's Stories integration will be Spotify and GoPro. Users will be able to share songs and playlists via Spotify directly through Instagram Stories. Content taken via GoPro cameras will also have the option to be shared directly on the app.

The new video feature will be available through Instagram Direct and will support up to four video feeds at one time.

The social sharing sites has also opened Stories to third-party apps which allows influencers and brands to create new filters. Ariana Grande, Liza Koshy, the NBA and more have already signed on to create new effects.
