McDonald's Experiments With Made-to-Order Chicken Menu Options

These higher-quality chicken meals will be tested in Washington state markets before the brand assesses the possibility of a larger scale rollout.

McDonald’s has announced that it is testing out two made-to-order options in Washington state. According to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News, these two items are the Ultimate Chicken Sandwich and Ultimate Chicken Tenders. The white meat chicken is prepared with a light seasoning and breading. McDonald’s will assess the feedback of local customers in order to determine if the meals will be rolled out on a larger scale.

“Our focus on menu innovation is essential as we continue to evolve and build a better McDonald’s. Our made-to-order Ultimate Chicken Sandwich and Ultimate Chicken Tenders reflect McDonald’s commitment to respond to customers’ desires for more chicken offerings, higher quality, and distinct, delicious flavors,” said Linda VanGosen, VP of menu innovation.

This serves as the most recent effort by McDonald’s to improve the quality of its menu. Last month, the fast food giant cut artificial ingredients from its classic burgers. Next month, a new breakfast sandwich will be introduced to further boost interest in the brand.
